Jorge is interested in understanding how each component of the actomyosin cortex is involved in T cell migration. T cell migration is an important component of the immune surveillance against tumours. The migration style that T cells adopt establishes the scanning efficiency for the cognate antigen. Furthermore, the actomyosin cortex is responsible for the generation of the mechanical forces that are necessary in the this process. Thus, by specifically inhibiting each component of the actomyosin cortex we were able to determine the contribution of each migration of T cells whilst they are scanning for their targets.
