  • Development of a light-regulated FGF inhibitor for cancer therapy

Stephanie did her Masters in Molecular Medicine at the University of Vienna (Austria) and joined Harald Janovjak's research group in 2014 for a Master thesis research project focused on light-regulation of signaling pathways involved in cancer (TGF-b, FGF).

She has been a PhD student in Dr Janovjak's group since 2016, and published a paper in Angewandte Chemie Int. Ed. in spring 2017 about novel optogenetic FGF receptors that can be inactivated using green light.

In 2017, she was awarded a DOC Fellowship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences for a period of three years.
